Throughout the United States, approximately 1,156 Honda Civics were recalled due to possible fuel leaks. The recall affects 2012 Honda Civics assembled from April 21 to May 2. This potential fuel leak could lead to an explosive fire during a crash.
According to Honda
Reports from Honda say the problem lies in the fuel feed line where an O-ring may have been displaced during the manufacturing process. While there have been no incident reports as of yet, Honda plans to fix the defect before one occurs.
2012 Honda Owners
If you own a 2012 Honda Civic, you should receive written notification of this problem starting May 27. Hondo has stated that many of the affected vehicles have not been sold yet, but that if you receive a notification letter regarding this recall, you should take your Honda to the nearest authorized dealer to have the problem fixed free of charge.
