Bicycle Pedals Recalled- Fall Hazard

Author Angela Sluder

Performance Inc. is recalling about 2,900 bicycle pedals due to a fall hazard. The company has received three reports of the pedals breaking.

About the Bicycle Pedal Recall

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the pedal body can break or crack with use, causing riders to lose control and possibly fall. CPSC asks that users immediately discontinue use and contact Performance Inc. to obtain a full refund.

Description of Recalled Bicycle Pedals

  • The recalled bicycle pedals are sold in sets of two and are made to attach to cycling shoes.
  • The axle and the pedal body are black with the word “Carbon” embossed in red on the front top of the pedal.
  • The bike pedals were sold in Performance Inc. catalogs (under the catalog number 50-8128) at the store's website, and at other retail stores from February 2011- October 2011 for $100.
