An 18-year-old from Sinton died early this morning (August 31, 2011) after being hit by a tractor-trailer off Highway 77 less than a mile outside the city.
About the Accident
The teen was headed east on County Road 1196 outside of Sinton when the collision occurred, the Corpus Christi Caller-Times is reporting. The young driver ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 77 and was hit by an 18-wheeler. The teen, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. The driver of the big rig was not injured in the crash and no citations have been issued as of yet.
