1 Dead, 1 Injured in Fairfax Construction Accident

One worker is dead and another has been injured as a result of a construction accident near Fairfax, Minnesota.

Details of the Fatal Fairfax Construction Accident

According to the Star Tribune, the two men were working on a transmission line in Renville County outside Fairfax Monday.

The two men were somehow shocked by the CapX2020 power line, sustaining serious burns – both were airlifted to trauma centers in the Twin cities. One of the men died from his injuries; the condition of the other worker is currently unknown.

A spokeswoman for the CapX2020 project stated that the two men worked for Donovan Construction of Ham Lake. The man who died was from the Twin Cities. The injured man is from Osseo, Wisonsin.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident with the Renville County sheriff’s office.

  • Of those, 4,175 were in the private industry and 806 were in construction.

  • These four causes of death were responsible for roughly 54 percent of all construction related deaths.
