1 Dead, 1 Injured in Midland Accident

One person is dead and another is injured following a multi-vehicle accident in Midland County, Texas.

Motorist Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter

According to NewsWest 9, 36-year-old Johnny Chalo Contreras of Oak View, California was pronounced dead at the scene following a fatal accident in Midland County around 3:30 pm Sunday.

Reports indicate Contreras was stopped behind a semi-truck at the intersection of Business 20 and LaForce when his 2001Dodge Ram was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact from the collision sent Contreras’ vehicle into the semi.

The driver of the Silverado, Bruce Ronald Peterson, 65, was determined to be intoxicated and has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.
