On Monday, June 22nd, a pickup truck spun out and hit a road sign, killing a 22-year-old Texan man and injuring two teenage passengers.

Details about the Baker County Accident

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck spun and hit a road sign on Interstate 10 close to the Glen Street Mary exit.

The Florida Times Union reported that the Texan man who died in the crash was named Cody R. Westbrook of Venus, Texas. Westbrook had been headed east on the interstate just west of County Road 125 a little after 5:15 a.m., when his Chevrolet Silverado veered. His pickup overturned over after hitting a road sign.

Two passengers in the truck, a 19-year-old man from Venus, Texas and an 18-year-old woman from Burleson, Texas, survived with minor injuries. They had been wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and were treated at UF Health Jacksonville, Highway Patrol stated.

Cody Westbrook, who had not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene after having been ejected from his truck.
