1 Dead, 2 Injured in Texas Collision

Authorities are looking into a Baytown-area auto accident that left one person dead and two others in critical condition early Sunday morning.

Details of the Baytown Head-On Collision

According to the Houston Chronicle, the crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 around 4 am. Reports state that a suspected drunk driver operating a Chevrolet Suburban was traveling in the wrong direction when the SUV slammed into a Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Baytown police arrived to the scene to find the PT Cruiser engulfed in flames. The passenger of the PT Cruiser was pronounced dead at the scene, and the drivers of the PT Cruiser and the Suburban were both airlifted to area hospitals for treatment.

Investigators are awaiting blood test results. As of Sunday, both survivors of the accident were listed in critical condition.
