According to KYTX News, one person has died and another three people were sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident near Livingston in Polk County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has reported that on January 14, 2016, around 6 p.m., 30-year-old Dawn Poirier, swerved her vehicle in order to avoid hitting a truck that was backing out of a driveway.  When she swerved to avoid the truck, she went into the opposite lane and hit a 2009 Toyota when she then overturned her vehicle.

After the collision, Poirier was transported to CHI St. Luke’s Hospital where she later died from her injuries sustained in the accident. Two other passengers in her vehicle, Maddalynne Poirier, 7, and Knighton Poirier, age unknown, were taken to Hermann Hospital for treatment.
