1 Dead, 7 Injured After Car Crashes into Store

One man was killed and seven others were injured on Tuesday when a driver fleeing the scene of a previous accident crashed into a Fort Worth store.

Details of the Fort Worth Crash

NBC-DFW reports 19-year-old Isaac Adams was fleeing the scene of a minor crash at the intersection of Riverside Drive and U.S. Highway 287 at speeds of up to 100 mph when he crashed a Star Food Mart near the intersection of Riverside Drive and East Lancaster Avenue.

Firefighter arrived to the scene to find several people trapped in the building. They began working to free the victims while also stabilizing the building to keep it from collapsing. Construction workers near the scene cut off electricity to the building.

The crash resulted in the death of 24-year-old Sylvia Zazueta who died after being transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with critical injuries. She was married with three children.

Seven other people were transported area hospitals with minor injuries.

Adams is believed to have been under the influence of a narcotic when the accident occurred and is facing multiple charges, including intoxication manslaughter.
