The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has launched a full investigation into the recent outbreak of liver damage and non-viral hepatitis cases in Hawaii, which has been linked to certain dietary supplements.

According to Fox News, a recent outbreak of liver damage and non-viral hepatitis cases has resulted in 11 hospitalizations and 1 death in Hawaii. The outbreak has been linked to certain dietary supplements that the majority of the patients have consumed.
FDA Suspects OxyElite Pro is Possible Source of Outbreak
- The dietary supplement known as OxyElite Pro has been identified as the main cause. USPLabs LLC of Dallas, Texas distributes it.
- The FDA says there have been 29 reports of liver damage with 24 of those all relating to taking the dietary supplements
- USPLabs LLC has stated it will cease distribution of OxyEltie supplements until the investigation, which is spearheaded by the Hawaii DOH and CDC, is complete.
