1 Dead in Burnet Trucking Accident

Authorities in Burnet, Texas are investigating a fatal trucking accident that left one man dead Saturday morning.

Details of the Fatal 18-Wheeler Crash

According to KVUE, the accident occurred on the 2100 block of Highway 29 East around 6 am Saturday.

Authorities believe an 18-wheeler that was traveling eastbound on the icy highway lost control and collided with a Chevrolet Astro van. The driver of the van, 37-year-old Manuel Galindo-Camacho of Fredericksburg, was killed in the collision.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, David Shoot, 36, was not injured in the accident. No charges have been filed.

  • Another 104,000 people were injured in trucking accidents in 2012, marking an 18-percent increase over 2011.
