1 Dead in California Bus Crash

A woman was killed in a head-on collision with a tour bus in California on Thursday afternoon.

About the Madera County Bus Accident

According to ABC News, the accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday in Madera County.

Tony Moniz, the tour bus driver, was headed down Highway 145 when the driver of the car veered into his lane. Moniz tried to avoid impact by swerving into a ditch. but the car continued to travel directly in his path.

The name of the woman driving the car, a Chevy Sedan, has not been released. She was identified as a 60-year-old woman from Coarsegold.

The woman is said to have been driving recklessly by veering to and from both lanes in either direction before the collision. The woman was killed when she collided with the bus along with her dog which had not been properly restrained in the vehicle.

All 41 passengers on the bus were uninjured along with the bus driver. The accident is still currently under investigation.
