1 Dead in Jefferson County Trucking Accident

One man is dead after being as a result of an 18-wheeler accident in Jefferson County early Friday morning.

Details of the Fatal Trucking Accident

According to WBRC, 47-year-old Michael Wayne Marsh was pronounced dead on the scene after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler on Interstate 65 near exit 280.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after 4:15 am. The driver of the 18-wheeler was transported to an area hospital, but his condition was not immediately released.

According to an employee with Oak Mountain Amphitheater, the tractor-trailer was transporting equipment of Motley Crue. Investigations into the cause of accident are ongoing.
