1 Dead in Kilgore Collision

A two-vehicle accident near Kilgore, Texas proved fatal on Tuesday, leaving a Tyler man dead.

About the Kilgore Accident

According to the Longview News Journal, a Ford pickup truck crossed over the center stripe of Texas Highway 31 on Tuesday and struck a car head-on.

The pickup truck was driven by 21-year-old Zachary Howard and the car was driven by Christopher Payne, 47.

Christopher Payne was pronounced dead around 5:50 p.m. Howard was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It is not clear yet whether alcohol or other intoxicants were contributing factors in the accident.
