1 Dead in Maple Valley Bus Crash

A man was killed near Maple Valley, Washington early Tuesday morning when his vehicle collided head-on with a Metro bus.

Details of the Maple Valley Accident

According to KOMO News, the accident occurred on Highway 169 near Jones Road around 4 am. The man was traveling southbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck the King County Metro bus.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities are looking a number of possibilities as they work to determine what caused the man to cross into oncoming traffic, including driver fatigue, driver distraction, and medical conditions. Authorities have also called for a toxicology report.

The name of the deceased has not been released.
