Destiny Baker2 years ago

A violent trucking accident along Highway 225 in Pasadena, Texas left one man dead Monday morning. Police are investigating the collision.

Details of the Fatal Pasadena Collision

According to KHOU, the driver of a small sedan was fatally injured after her vehicle was hit from behind by an 18-wheeler on Highway 225 near Preston Avenue.

The collision occurred shortly before 9 am. Authorities believe the accident occurred when the driver of the sedan attempted to avoid plastic barrels that had fallen from a flatbed truck that was traveling in front of her.

Police state that the woman likely swerved and applied her brakes to avoid hitting the barrels, leaving the tractor-trailer little time to react – the 18-wheeler then smashed into the back of the sedan, killing the woman.

Traffic was diverted to the feeder road as authorities investigated the scene. It took officials several hours to confirm that the woman was the only occupant of the sedan.

No charges have been filed.
