Drunk Driving Crash

A 21-year-old Texas State University student killed a man and injured his pregnant wife in a drunk driving crash on Tuesday.

About the Drunk Driving Crash

According to the San Antonio Express-News, 21-year-old Shana Lee Elliott allegedly crossed the center line on Highway 21 and collided with a Toyota Carolla carrying Fabian Guerrero-Moreno and his wife Kristian Nicole Guerrero. Kristian is five-months-pregnant. The accident occurred around 6 pm Tuesday.

Fabian died at the scene, and Kristian was taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for treatment. Kristian was listed in serious condition and her unborn child is not expected to survive. Elliot was treated for minor injuries.

Elliot admitted to police that she had been drinking while floating along a nearby river earlier Tuesday and according to an affidavit, a witness claimed to see “a female in a bikini” roll a bottle of alcohol under a vehicle. Elliot has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of  ntoxication assault.

The public relations and mass communications senior reportedly had previous run-ins with the law, including a March arrest on three charges of possession of controlled substances and marijuana. She was also arrested in May on two more charges of possession of controlled substances.
