1 Killed in Irving Chain Accident

According to the Star-Telegram, a truck driver was killed during a chain-reaction accident on Sunday.

Details of the Irving Accident

Starting at about 3 A.M. Sunday, July 26, a chain of vehicular accidents started on Texas 182.

First, a white pickup truck had been in a major accident, requiring firefighters and police to respond. Next, an 18-wheeler hit the aerial ladder fire truck, resulting in a fiery and fatal crash.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was killed on the scene. He was identified as 55-year-old Ilian Lalev of Dallas. Three firefighters were injured in this wreck as well.

Finally, only minutes after the crash, a car hit a patrol car that was sitting on the scene. No one was in the patrol car, but the driver of the other vehicle attempted to flee the scene. He was caught down the road and was arrested for suspected intoxication while driving.

The identity of the hit-and-run motorist has not yet been released by the police.
