Multiple people were injured on Thursday in South Brunswick in an 11-vehicle accident on Route 130.

Details about the Multi-Vehicle Accident

New Jersey 1015 News is reporting that an 11-vehicle accident happened along Route 130 on the New Jersey Turnpike in South Brunswick and slowed the morning commute, according to authorities.

Captain Jim Ryan of the South Brunswick Police stated that the accident happened on the south side of Route 32 when a commuter bus that had just started its route drove into 10 cars that were stopped at a light at highway speeds.

There was no one on the bust at the time of the accident except the driver.

Two people were seriously injured in the accident and two others had to be extricated from their vehicle, according to Ryan. The highway was closed at about 8 a.m. in order to move all of the vehicles involved in the accident off the road and was reopened approximately one hour later.

The intersection where the accident happened serves as a direct route to the New Jersey Turnpike.
