At least 12 people were injured in an accident involving a bus in Las Vegas.

Details about the Bus Accident

The Las Vegas Sun is reporting that at least 12 people were injured in an accident that involved a pickup truck and a RTC bus. The accident reportedly happened when the truck ran a red light and hit a RTC bus in the central valley.

According to Metro Police, they responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of McLeod and Sahara Avenue at about 7 a.m.

A man was driving the 2007 For F-150 east on Sahara Avenue and failed to stop at a red light and hit the right side of the RTC bus which was carry about 25 passengers at the time of the accident, according to police.

Ten passenger of the bus, the 36-year-old driver of the Ford and three or four other passengers in the pickup were all taken to area hospital with injuries ranging anywhere from minor to critical. The 59-year-old driver of the bus did not sustain any injuries in the accident.

An original report from the Associated Press original indicated that there were 22 reported injuries, but that number has since been confirmed at about a dozen. The accident currently remains under investigation, and the names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released by the police department.
