15 Injured in Carolina Beach Boating Accident
15 people suffered minor injuries after a party boat crashed at Carolina Beach last Friday.
About the Boat Accident
Late Friday night, a large party cruise boat, the Royal Winner Princess II, crashed into a dock, according to WECT. The boat was scheduled for a 3 hour cruise, but after only thirty minutes the boat lost its steering pump.
Before the Captain could react and try to regain control of the boat, a current pushed the boat into the dock.
There was little damage to the ship and the 159 people on board at the time. However, six people were taking to the hospital with minor cuts and bruises.

In 2014, there were a total of 4,064 accidents.
- 610 of those resulted in deaths.
- 2,678 injuries were recorded.
- 78% of fatal boating accidents are because of drowning.
