15 Injured in Flat Rock School Bus Crash

Investigators in Flat Rock are investigating a school bus accident that left 15 students injured Thursday.

About the Flat Rock Bus Accident

According to WYFF News, an accident involving a school bus resulted in the injury of 15 students in Flat Rock, North Carolina.

The school bus was driving along Deep Gap Road in Henderson County when it went off the road. At around 7:30 in the morning, the bus hit a culvert and slid into a nearby ditch.

Reports indicate that six students were transported to Park Ridge Health and nine others were taken to Pardee Hospital. The accident victims were all treated for minor injuries.

  • There are 142 fatalities per year caused by school transportation related accidents.
  • 72% of fatalities are victims in other vehicles.
  • 20% of fatalities are pedestrians and bicyclists.
  • Only 8% of school transportation related fatalities were students on a school bus.
