19-Year-Old Student Killed in Car Accident

A 19-year-old student from WestConn was killed in a car accident early Wednesday.

Details about the Fatal Car Accident

Multiple sources are reporting that 19-year-old Michael Deangelo, of East Haven, died after being involved in an early morning one-vehicle accident that happened on interstate 95 in old Lyme near Exit 70, according to State Police.

Deangelo was a freshman at Wester Connecticut State University and was on the baseball team.

State police further indicated that troopers responded to the scene of the accident at about 12:57 a.m. near the Exit 70 off-ramp. Deangelo was driving a 2003 Lexus north and veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. He then spun off into the right shoulder, his vehicle colliding with a wooden sound barrier wall.

The victim was found in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. An investigation remains ongoing at this time.
