2 Children Killed in Kilgore Car Crash

On Friday, July 11th, two children were killed as a result of a car crash in Kilgore, Texas. Police are investigating alcohol as a contributing factor to the collision.

About the Kilgore Auto Accident

According to KSAT, the accident occurred when an oil field truck that was traveling in the wrong direction along the northbound lane of 259 collided with a van carrying two young children and their parents.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 1 am where they found two children, ages 5 and 12, dead. The children’s mother was unconscious while their father was moving but in a daze.

The mother was taken to an area hospital where she is listed in critical condition. Both children were taken to the Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Authorities have issued a DWI search warrant for the driver of the oil field truck, 22-year-old Shelby Taylor. Taylor was also hospitalized, but her condition is unkown.
