2 Dead, 2 Injured in East Texas Collision

Authorities in East, Texas are investigating a motorcycle accident that left two people dead and two others injured near Lufkin.

About the Lufkin Motorcycle Accident

KLTV reports Charles Kilgore, 49, and Lisa Ruskin, 51, were both killed Thursday afternoon when their motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle on southbound US Highway 69.

State Trooper Clint Henderson said Ruskin and Lufkin were weaving between traffic on a 2006 Harley Davidson when the motorcycle crashed into the back of a 2007 GMC Yukon.

According reports, the Harley Davidson had crossed into a northbound lane of US 69 and swerved back into the southbound lane before hitting the SUV. The Yukon was slowing down to make a left turn onto Carroll Road when the incident occurred.

Kilgore was pronounced dead at the scene; Lufkin died later at the hospital. The driver of the Yukon, Hannah Martin, 23, and her son, Gabriel, 3, were both injured in the crash. Authorities have been unable to determine the speed at which the motorcycle was traveling as there are no skid marks left by the vehicle.
