2 Dead, 4 Hurt in La Joya Police Chase

Two people were killed and four others were injured after a car being pursued by police crashed into another vehicle in La Joya, Texas.

Details of the Hidalgo County Collision

According to KHOU, 21-year-old Osiel Figueroa and 24-year-old Pamela Mariscal were killed in a weekend crash as they attempted to evade arrest.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says that authorities attempted to pull the two over for a traffic stop along U.S. Highway 83 when the vehicle sped away from police.

The vehicle collided with another car getting on to the highway, injuring four people in the second vehicle. One woman remains hospitalized.

Following the collision, authorities found several bundles of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle being pursued.
