2 Dead in Utah School Bus Crash

According to local police in Payson, Utah, there is an ongoing investigation after a Nebo School District bus collided with a truck on Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the Fatal School Bus Accident

FOX 13 reports two victims involved in in the incident sustained fatal injuries. They have been identified as Christopher Jay Cook, 22, and Makia Love Boyd, 18.

Preliminary reports indicate the bus collided with Cook’s pickup truck in a head-on accident on 960 E. Arrowhead Trail around 2:30 p.m.  Boyd was a passenger in Cook’s vehicle.

Alexandria Johnson, 20, and Colton Zobel, 21, were also in the pickup – both sustained injuries. The bus driver, Lorrie Hone, 39, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

No children were aboard the bus at the time of the accident. Authorities are still trying to determine the cause(s) of the incident.
