2 Killed, 2 Injured in Brooklyn Car Crash

Police are investigating a deadly car accident in Brooklyn, NY on Monday evening, according to a report from WABC 7 News. Initial reports indicate speed was a factor.

  • The accident happened just before 7 p.m. on Flatbush Ave and Avenue U in the Mill Basin neighborhood of Brooklyn.
  • Witnesses reported a Nissan Maxima traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph.
  • The Nissan struck a BMW that was in the process of making a U-turn onto Avenue U before collding with a pole.

The driver of the Nissan, Philbert Martin Williams, 20, was taken to Coney Island Hospital where he was pronounced dead on a arrival. A passenger of the Nissan, Christina Wipper, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two occupants of the BMW also sustained minor injuries in the crash.
