Details about the Fatal Child Pedestrian Accident

OKC Fox News is reporting that the Midwest City Police Department has launched an investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident that involved a toddler on Saturday evening.

According to emergency crews, the accident happened at about 6 p.m. on the 100 block of Park Place near East Reno Avenue and North Douglas Boulevard. Authorities further revealed that a 2-year-old child ran behind a vehicle in the driveway and that a relative of the child was inside the vehicle that hit the child.

The Midwest City Police said that the relative did not know that the child was behind of the vehicle at the time of the accident. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the cause and the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing at this time. The names of those involved in the accident have not been released.
