20 Children Injured After Truck Hits School Bus
About the School Bus Crash
According to ABC News, the collision occurred around 2 pm Monday at the intersection of Elm and Central Avenue.
Witnesses claim that the driver of the tractor-trailer proceeded through a stop sign at the intersection, not realizing that the school bus did not have to stop at the intersection.
The bus was unable to stop in time and collided with the truck.
In total, 20 children were hospitalized with various injuries. The intersection was closed for hours as hazmat crews emptied the 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel from the tanker and cleared the scene.
