2012 Ford Edge Recalled

Lauren Quinones4 years ago

Ford Motor Company is recalling 5,499 specific 2012 Ford Edge cars manufactured from September 2, 2010 to October 31, 2011 made with 2.0L engines. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), improper manufacturing can cause the fuel line pulse damper housing to crack, which can, in return, cause a fire.

About the Ford Recall

The fuel line pulse damper housing in these cars can crack because of malfunctions while manufacturing the vehicle. The pulse damper keeps the fuel from sloshing back and forth in the line when the engines' injectors open and close. A cracked pulse damper may result in a combination of fuel odor, weepage, or a continuous leak while the fuel system is pressurized. This fuel leak, while the vehicle is running, can result in a fire.
