2012 Jeep Compass and Patriot Recalled

Chrysler is recalling Jeep Compass and Patriot vehicles from the 2012 model year due to a defect in the fuel tank assembly which may lead to a fuel leak. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), if the vehicle were to be involved in a crash or roll-over accident, the fuel leakage could result in a vehicle fire.

Information for Jeep Compass and Patriot Owners

  • The recall involves 2012 Jeep Patriot and 2012 Jeep Compass vehicles.
  • Recalled vehicles were manufactured from December 17, 2011 through January 2, 2012.
  • Chrysler will replace the fuel tank free of charge when the recall begins in June 2012.
