2013 Lexus GS350 Recall- Steering Issues

Ruben Tyler Kendrick4 years ago

Toyota Motor Corporation recently recalled 2013 Lexus GS350 vehicles manufactured in 2011 and 2012 due to steering issues which could increase the risk of a crash.

Lexus GS350 Recall Information

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the steering control electronic control unit (ECU) programming for the variable gear ration steering (VGRS) system could cause the steering wheel to offset when the car is immediately restarted after being in the stopped with the steering wheel turned. If this occurs without the driver’s knowledge, the vehicle could move in an unexpected direction which could result in a crash.

Information for Lexus Owners

  • This recall is expected to begin in June 2012.
  • Toyota will notify owners of the effected vehicles and Lexus dealers will upgrade the VGRS free of charge.
  • Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 or call the NHTSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236. Information about this recall can also be found at http://www.safercar.gov.
