2017 Chrysler Pacifica Recall

Cydney Patterson5 months ago

KLEWTV News is reporting that select 2017 Fiat Chrysler automobiles are being recalled. More than 3,500 are being recalled in the United States alone.

Details about the Recall

According to a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the seat belt clips in some Pacifica vehicles may break, which could preventing occupants from being properly restrained. The problem affects seat belts for the second-and third row center seats. The recall is limited to 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivans built between February 22, 2016 and April 28, 2016.

A total of 3,518 vehicles registered in the U.S. are affected. According to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) there have been no known injuries or reports. Even though there are no known injury reports, this is still a serious problem that could really lead to a lot of complications if the car were to crash.

What to Do about the Recall

  • If you do not receive a recall announcement about your car in the mail, call the FCA and they will put you in contact with your local dealers.
  • The dealers will be required to inspect overhead seatbelt stow clips for the second and third-row seats and replace them at no charge to consumers
