220,000 Ford Vehicles Recalled Due to Faulty Springs and Safety Belt Fasteners

Farren Washington2 years ago

Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday that they are recalling more than 220,000 vehicles due to issues with faulty door springs and saftey belt fasteners.

About the Ford Vehicle Recall

According to the Detroit News, the automaker is recalling over 205,000 2010-2013 sedans due to an issue with the springs in the interior door handles.

Ford said that any of the doors could fly open in a side-impact crash, increasing passengers' chances of injury. Local dealers will thoroughly inspect all four interior door handles and repair or replace them.

Ford is also recalling 16,100 2014 vans because of safety belt fasteners that may not have been tightened properly.

Safety belt fasteners that are not installed properly run the risk of loosening up over time, and will therefore reduce the effectiveness in a potential crash or accident. Local dealers will replace and properly tighten them.
