A total of 28 people were injured in a bus accident that happened in Houston.

Details about the Bus Accident

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that a Houston Metro bus accident that happened in the downtown area, just north of Minute Maid Park resulted in the injury of dozens of people.

According to the Houston Police Department, the accident happened just after 1:30 p.m., near the intersection of Runnels and Chartres. An initial investigation into the accident reveals that the Metro bus collided with a pickup truck near an entrance ramp onto Interstate 10 East, after the bus hit a steel beam that was supporting an overhead street sign.

The steel beam was heavily damaged and at least one of the signs fell to the ground. Officials have revealed that there were at least 32 people on the bus at the time of the accident, with 28 of them being transported to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
