3 Dead, 6 Injured in Tooele County Accident

Utah authorities are investigating a three-vehicle that left three people dead and another six injured in Tooele County, Utah Sunday afternoon.

Details of the Fatal Tooele County Accident

A total of eleven people were involved in Sunday’s three-vehicle collision along State Route 36 near the State Route 38 interchange in Tooele County around 3:15 pm.

Of those involved, authorities have confirmed that three people have died from their injuries and six others required medical attention. FOX 13 reports that three medical helicopters were on scene in addition to other EMS responders.

While investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident, the Utah Department of Public Safety has released information that suggests a minivan traveling northbound on State Route 36 struck a sports utility vehicle during a lane change.

The minivan the crossed the median into oncoming traffic where it was struck by a Subaru traveling southbound – both occupants of the Subaru died as a result of the impact.

The minivan’s front passenger also died in the collision, and four young adults were ejected from the vehicle. The four young adults were flown to area hospitals and are listed in critical condition.

The driver of the minivan is also listed in critical condition while the condition of the minivan’s final passenger is currently unknown.
