3 Dead in Andrews Collision

Three people were killed Saturday morning in a three-vehicle collision just east of Andrews, Texas.

About the Andrews, Texas Car Crash

According to the El Paso Times, the accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. at an intersection roughly 7 miles east of Andres, Texas, just north of Odessa.

Reports indicate 32-year-old Steven Michael Bolton of El Paso was traveling south on Farm-to-Market Road 1788 when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a vehicle that was traveling west on State Highway 1976. A third vehicle, traveling east on State Highway 176, then struck the first two vehicles.

Bolton and the driver and passenger of the second vehicle, Douglas Patrick Irwin, 43, and Marcus Irwin, 15, were killed in the collision. All three were wearing seatbelts.

The driver of the third vehicle, 47-year-old Allan Carlton Warren, was transported to Permian Regional Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

  • Another 232,041 people injured in auto accidents in 2013, and 89,270 people suffered serious injuries.
  • Using available traffic data for 2013, TxDOT estimates:
    • One person was killed in an auto accident in Texas every 2 hours and 36 minutes.
    • A person was injured in an auto accident every 2 minutes and 16 seconds.
    • A reportable crash occurred every 71 seconds.
