3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving 18-Wheeler

A multiple vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler shut down one lane on I-30 in Bowie County for several hours on Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the Bowie County Trucking Accident

According to KSLA, the accident occurred near the 213 mile marker when a driver sped around the 18-wheeler and cut back in front of him, leaving him nowhere to go.

Farmer attempted to stop, but he lost control of the truck and hit the cable barrier, pushing him back into traffic and causing him to hit six other vehicles.

Only three people were injured in the collision, but their conditions are still unknown.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the accident.

  • Over the past 10 years (2002 through 2012) the number of large trucks involved in fatal crashes decreased from 4,587 to 3,802, a drop of 17 percent.
