4 Dead in Conroe Collision

Four people were killed in Conroe, Texas Sunday following suspected drunk driving accident.

Details of the Conroe Collision

According to ABC 13, the accident occurred around 1 pm when three vehicle collieded in the eastbound lanes of SH 105 near April Sound.

Officials have confirmed that two adults and two children were killed as a result of the collision. The deceased have been identified as Roland Sedlmeier, 49, Melinda Sedlmeier, 42, Harley Sedlmeier, 6, and Sofie Sedlemeir, 4. All were occupants in a Toyota vehicle.

Two occupants of a Jeep, ages 16 and 15, were injured in the accident.  The driver of another vehicle, 68-year-old Ron Cooper, was arrested and is facing four counts of intoxication manslaughter and two count of intoxication assault.

  • 3,534 people were killed in auto accidents in Texas in 2014, roughly one death every 2 hours and 29 minutes.
  • Of those deaths, 1,041 (29 percent) were associated with accidents in which a driver was under the influence of alcohol.
  • An additional 237,941 people were injured in auto accidents with 17,152 people suffering a serious injury.
