5 Injured in Copiah County Trucking Accident

Authorities in Copiah County, Mississippi are investigating a two-vehicle accident that left five people injured last week.

About the Collision

The accident occurred at approximately 6am on Thursday October 8th near interstate 55 southbound at Wesson, according to reports.

The vehicles involved in the collision are a Sanderson Farm 18-wheeler and a Nissan Armada. Both vehicles were headed south on I-55 when they eventually collided.

The Nissan, containing three adults and two children, was overturned and sent off the road. It has not been reported what factors brought forth the terrible accident.

Investigators of the scene are still working to determine who was at fault in the accident.

At Least One Victim Airlifted

As reported by MSNewsNow, all five passengers of the Nissan sustained injuries that required immediate medical treatment. Of the five, a 6-year-old girl was airlifted for head injuries she sustained. 

The driver of the 18-wheeler, whose identity has not been reported, left the accident unharmed.
