Austin authorities are investigating reports that a 5-year-old was abandoned on a daycare bus for hours in the heat.

Father Finds Son Alone in Hot Daycare Bus

According to KEYE News, a family claims their five-year-old son, Om Dave, was abandoned in a hot daycare bus for three hours Friday evening. When the Om’s father went to pick him up from Xplor daycare after work, he was horrified that no one knew where his son was.

After 15 minutes of searching, the daycare staff found the boy alone in the bus.

The little boy says that when he saw that the bus was empty he tried to open the doors and kick the windows but could not get out. The 5-year-old’s father says Om either fell asleep or passed out from heat exhaustion.

Om's parents have filed a report with the police and are pulling him out of Xplor daycare.
