According to KBMT 12 News, the bus was making its last pick-up on Highway 96 around 7:30 am when it was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler, leaving several children injured. 52 students were on the bus at the time of the accident; fortunately, all the children and both drivers survived the crash.

A DPS report indicates that the bus was at a complete stop and had all emergency lights on when the 2007 Freightliner slammed in to the parked bus, striking the bus’s back left corner panel.

Investigations into the accident are ongoing as DPS Troopers attempt to account for all factors that may have contributed to the collision. No charges have been filed yet.
