6 Dead in New York Trucking Accident

Laura Hosford-Yunker4 years ago

Six people were killed last week when a yogurt truck rear-ended a car, causing a fiery chain-reaction wreck on Route 11 in upstate New York. Police are still investigating the fatal accident.

Yogurt Truck Caused Fatal Collision

The accident occurred on July 19, 2012 when a tractor trailer, hauling yogurt to a nearby factory, rear-ended a car which was slowed for construction work on Route 11 in Antwerp. The car then hit an SUV, causing it to burst into flames and killing five people inside. The driver of the first car hit also died at the hospital.

The driver of the yogurt truck is being drug tested and troopers are investigating his truck for mechanical problems as part of their ongoing investigation.
