6 Killed in High-Speed Police Chase

Six people were killed in a high-speed police chase in League City this Sunday.

About the Fatal League City Accident

According the San Antonio Express-News, two cousins, Juan Garcia Ahuezoteco and Alejandro Molina, led police on a high-speed car chase in League City.

The chase began at 8:20 p.m. when police attempted to pull over the cousins in a Dodge Durango after noticing the car was swerving and not using headlights. The Durango continued on Ohio Street, slammed into a Honda Accord on FM 646, and finally hit a utility pole, knocking out power in the area.

Both cousins were killed along with the four people in the Honda Accord. The four in the car have been identified as Alejandra Guerrero, 38, her husband Rafael Guerrero. 41, their 15-year-old son, and Mrs. Guerrero’s brother, Gilberto Ortega, 26.

  • 33,561 people died in motor vehicle crashes in the United States in 2012. This was the first increase since 2005.
  • In 2012, 2.36 million people were injured in motor vehicle crashes, an increase of 6.5 percent from 2011.
  • Passenger vehicles accounted for the highest number of fatalities (21,667) and injuries (2,091,000) in comparison to any other type of vehicle in 2012.
