6 Workers Burned in Coal Mine Accident
About the Coal Mine Accident
According to KVUE News, the workers were near an out-of-service lignite storage silo when hot ash and burning embers fell on them.
The mine owner, Luminant, says the workers experienced burns to their hands and legs. They were treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital in Sulphur Springs.
One employee was released, but the rest were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital. The incident has been reported to federal safety officials.
