60-Year-Old Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident

A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead in LaPorte, Texas on Saturday, following a two-vehicle accident on Texas 146 near Fairmont Parkway.

About the Fatal LaPorte Accident

According to the Houston Chronicle, man was traveling south along Texas 146 on a 1996 Honda motorcycle when he was struck by an Acura sedan from behind around 7:40 pm.

The man was ejected from the motorcycle upon impact – he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities do not believe either driver was behaving recklessly prior to the collision. The accident remains under investigation.

  • In 2011, there were about 33,000 fatalities. That number jumped in 2012 to about 34,000 fatalities. This means that in only one year, fatalities jumped 3.3 percent.
