  • Crash statistics reported by USA Today show that fatal hit-and-runs are on the rise.
  • In 2011, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administraion recorded 1,449 hit-and-run deaths – a 13.7 percent increase from the 1,274 recorded in 2009.
