Alert: Franck’s Pharmacy Prescriptions Recalled
On May 25, 2012 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Franck’s Pharmacy issued a nationwide recall of all sterile human and veterinary prescriptions issued from November 21, 2011 to May 21, 2012 because they may be contaminated with dangerous microorganisms and fungal growth.
Contaminated Prescriptions Recalled
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), certain Franck’s Pharmacy products have been recalled because they could potentially be contaminated with dangerous microorganisms and fungal growth. Consumers are urged to:
- Cease use of the recalled prescription products
- Destroy any of the remaining recalled prescriptions
- Report any adverse events to Franck’s Compounding Pharmacy and FDA’s MedWatch program
