Arizona Auto Accident Victim Awarded $30.6M

A Glendale man was recently awarded more than $30 million by an Arizona jury for a 2008 auto accident which left him permanently paralyzed. The accident occurred when a car entering the freeway clipped a flatbed truck, causing it to strike the victim’s vehicle.

Details of the Arizona Auto Accident Case

  • On January 7, 2008, at approximately 5:30 a.m., the plaintiff was travelling on Route 101 in Glendale when he was involved in a multi-vehicle crash.
  • According to reports, the multi-car collision began when a pickup truck entered the freeway and clipped a flatbed truck, causing it to strike the plaintiff’s vehicle.  
  • The plaintiff’s vehicle flipped twice and then collided with yet another vehicle. 
  • The crash left the plaintiff with a fractured cervical vertebra, resulting in quadriplegia. 

Jury Awards $30.6 Million Verdict

  • The plaintiff filed suit against both drivers involved in the crash.
  • An Arizona jury found the driver who caused the initial crash 100% liable for the accident.
  • The plaintiff and his children were awarded a total of $30.6 million for medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and loss of consortium.
